We are certified guides trained with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, offering public and private forest therapy walks in Rhode Island. Join us to unplug from technology and tune in to the natural music of the woodlands, parks, and shorelines of our region.
Known as Shinrin-Yoku, Forest Bathing is a health and wellness practice first developed in Japan in 1982 as an antidote to stress-related disease and as a conservation strategy to protect the forests of that island nation. This practice was adapted for our North American sensibility by Amos Clifford, who founded the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs in 2012. Forest Therapy / Forest Bathing programs invite you to use your senses to reconnect and rejuvenate.
Mindful walks outside in nature offer numerous health benefits including stress reduction, increase in immune system functions, improvements in mood and creativity! To plan your walk please email: ForestBathingRI@gmail.com
We are grateful to the many indigenous peoples who have been the traditional stewards of this land and continue to steward it today. We acknowledge that the programs we hold take place on the ancesteral lands and waters of the Mashpee, Narragansett, Pequot, Niantic, Nipmuc, and Wampanoag peoples. We also acknowledge these lands are unceded homes of Indigenous Peoples for thousands of years.
